My husband and I spent two years (2004-06) living in Armenia as Peace Corps Volunteers. We have been living in Olympia since we returned to the US in 2006. I've also been to Kenya, London, Amsterdam, Spain, Armenia, and eastern Europe (Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava, Prague). I studied Spanish and TESOL at WWU, as well as continuing ed in Early Childhood Education at Bellingham Tech and continuing ed in Parenting Education at SPSCC. Currently, I am a stay-home mommy with two daughters. I also teach Spanish a few hours each week and do freelance writing. In the past I've worked as a teacher (preschool, ELL, EFL, Spanish) and as the director of a YMCA child development center. I enjoy hiking, backpacking, and organic gardening. My husband Lars works for WA State Dept of Ecology and is working on his MPA at Evergreen. Once he's done, I'm planning to head back to graduate school.
