Eric Bachhuber, Recruiting Coordinator
I was an AMIGOS volunteer in Villarica Paraguay, 1995, Portland Chapter and have been the Seattle Chapter Recruiting coordinator from 2010-present. I was born and raised in Portland, OR. I have lived in Walla Walla, WA, Monterey, CA, and Washington, DC. I currently live in Seattle, WA. In Latin America, I lived in Paraguay as an Amigos volunteer in 1995, in Ecuador in 1996 while studying Spanish, in Believe in 1998 while conducting an archaeological field school on Maya cave burials, and in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula in 1999 for my semester abroad. In Latin America, I have traveled through Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, Honduras, Jamaica, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay. In Asia, I have traveled through Thailand, Mayaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia. In Europe, I have traveled through England, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Lichtenstien, and Spain. I have also traveled to Israel, Palestine, Tahiti, the Cook Islands, and Fiji. I earned a BA in 2000 with double major in Anthropology and Foreign Languages and Literatures: Spanish from Whitman College. I received a MA in 2004 in International Policy Studies, with specialization in Conflict Resolution and International Negotiations from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. I currently work as a senior analyst for the U.S. Government Accountability Office, I investigate fraud, waste and abuse in the federal government. I am an avid basketball player, and also enjoy fishing and foraging for wild mushrooms in the woods.
