PHOTO CONTEST

The international office had so many amazing photo submissions this year, that they ended up choosing 6 category favorites and then choosing their favorite category winner as the Photo of The Year. Here is the Best Portrait, taken by Devi Johnson (of the Seattle Chapter) in Cusco, Perú 2011. ¡Felicidades!
LOOKING FOR A FANTASTIC SUMMER EXPERIENCE?
You have come to the right place! Amigos de las Américas (AMIGOS) is an international, not-for-profit organization with more than 30 chapters across the United States that provides unparalleled leadership and community service opportunities for young people while concurrently contributing to the well-being of hundreds of communities throughout the Americas.
Since its founding in 1965, more than 20,000 high school and college-age students have served as summer AMIGOS Volunteers. Through their training and service experience they gain life-changing insights about other cultures, effective civic engagement and their personal potential.
AMIGOS gives young people an extraordinary opportunity to rise to the challenge of independently managing great responsibility within multicultural settings. Extensive training programs teach youth valuable skills, such as how to build effective teams to foster sustainable community improvements.
The Seattle Chapter, chartered in 1970, has sent hundred of Amigos volunteers from the Puget Sound area to Latin America.
If you are a Seattle Area resident and would like to apply through our chapter or receive additional information, please contact recruiting@seattleamigos.org.
Please visit the AMIGOS International Office website for additional information about specific projects.
